Words Of Encouragement

Has anyone ever given you words of encouragement which seems good at the time only to have someone else give you the opposite advice which makes good sense as well? If so, you have been a victim of the conflicting truths behind motivational words of wisdom.

A conflicting truth is when a statement is true, yet the opposite of that statement is also true. Life is full of gray area. Situations are seldom either black or white. In fact it is the gray area of life where all true words of wisdom are born. Expand your awareness to include all of that gray area and avoid giving or taking overly simplified black or white blanket statements.

Age doesn't guarantee wisdom. Whatever words of encouragement you put your faith behind simply keep in mind that words of wisdom will forever be at war with conflicting truths.

Every time we receive words of encouragement it releases a small amount of "can do" hormones into our system. Encouragement doesn't produce immediate results. when we receive a steady diet of encouragement it builds our expectations of success in whatever we are striving to accomplish. It's as if they think giving praise and encouragement, more than at review time, will give the employee a "big head", or too much self esteem. Encouragement is as important to the new person on the team as it is to the seasoned team veteran. Over time those words are put into their bank of inner strength.

Psychologists have searched for the best words of encouragement after a breakup, only to be met with negative responses from the one who has broken up. There is a tendency for the rejected lover to obsess on the past relationship and to reject anything counter to this focus. 

Great friends will just help out whenever help is needed. All successful people have had a support group to help them achieve success in life. You most likely have had some great words of encouragement from your family or friends during your time of need. Do you offer them positive words of encouragement and advice? When was the last time you said in encouraging statement or group of words to your friends or family members?

Do not let the disappointments and problems of life discourage you for they are minor glitches which probably will fade away as you go through them.
