PacMan is at the same time one of the simplest and most addictive arcade games to ever come out of the arcade golden age that was the 80's. This classic game has been ported and adapted to numerous platforms over the years, with mixed success. If you've never played PacMan, what the hell are you even doing reading this review? In PacMan you play as, well, PacMan. What is PacMan you may ask? You must run through the maze eating little dots, running from ghosts, and eating the big dots to turn the ghosts blue and edible. I had two major gripes with this version. While you can definitely play the game just fine, the pace of gameplay is noticeably different than the arcade game and it threw me off. While I've never been all that crazy about the PacMan, I'll admit its a pretty a fun game for a while, especially when this version is free. Playing PacMan brought back fond memories of feeding arcade machines quarters down by the beach. Nowadays... well, good luck even finding an arcade.
To play Pacman, the idea is to use the arrow keys on your computer keyboard to move Pacman through the maze and eat all the white dots. The game becomes complicated because Pacman must avoid the four ghosts, named Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, who can kill him. Pacman can, however, eat a power pill, which allows him to eat the ghosts, and he can earn extra points by eating fruit which appears in the maze on occasion. For one, Blinky chases Pacman off the board only to have Blinky return, being chased by a huge Pacman. The final scene is with Blinky, who has his outfit sewn back together, chasing Pacman across the board. One suggestion is to practice getting Pacman smoothly around the corners. You will want to start cornering before Pacman actually gets to the corner. Blinky the ghost is very fast, especially with directional changes.
Without any doubts, the game suits for any ages and both genders.Pac-Man games are still on top and have a many-millioned army of fans.
